President Donald Trump has criticised Iran over the Strait of Hormuz, stating that it wants to keep it closed to make $500 million a day more profitable than it could otherwise be. This comes after Trump announced an extension of a ceasefire with Iran, extending it until the Iranians come to the negotiating table with a proposal. The president also mentioned that the Iranian government is fractured and asked the United States to hold its attack on Iran until a unified proposal is provided. Last week, Iran announced that the Strait was completely open after being largely closed during the U.S.-Israeli conflict.
