Hang on: Strong winds returning to Las Vegas Valley

A wind advisory takes effect at 11 a.m. today for Southern Nevada, expiring at 5 a.,m. Friday. The National Weather Service expects southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph, followed by winds from the north-northwest as a cold front arrives. The strongest winds will be near Laughlin, Bullhead City and Katherine Landing. The forecast high for Friday is expected to be in the upper 60s. The average high for mid-April is in the mid-70s and the average rainfall total for April is 0.2 inches.
