The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Rockets 100-92 in a game at Toyota Center, marking the fewest points a team has scored against the Lakers this season. The team's defensive effort allowed them to hold the Rockets to 92 points, marking only the third time in 21 games this season they won after scoring fewer than 110 points. Marcus Smart and Luka Doncic praised their willingness to "get in the trenches and grind it out," while Kevin Durant, who had seven of the turnovers including six in the second half, said he lost the game due to the Lakers' defensive tactics. Despite the team's six-game winning streak and nine of their last 10 games, the Lakers know they need to improve if they want to be a higher seed in the playoffs.
