The North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division (ALE) has arrested 12 people in connection to illegal alcohol and drug sales at two Greensboro businesses. The investigation began in fall 2025 after multiple complaints were lodged about Pura Vida Cocktail Bar and Restaurant. During the investigation, agents identified multiple employees and patrons allegedly involved in the sale and trafficking of illegal drugs. They also found illegal alcohol, drug sales, and illegal drug sales taking place at an apartment selling alcohol without ABC permits. Agents seized 172 grams of cocaine and 25 grams of methamphetamine from patrons and employees of both businesses. Two firearms, over $10,000, drug paraphernalia, non-tax paid liquor and malt beverages were also seized. The charges against these individuals include over 150 counts of maintaining a business used for controlled substance violations and misdemeanor failure to superintend an ABC licensed business.
