The Kansas Democratic Party hosted prominent Democrat and former secretary of transportation under Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, in Wichita to promote the midterms. Much of his speech focused on affordability across-the-board and criticism of the Trump administration. Buttigigieg said that it is vital for Democrats to connect with rural voters and said that their party should do a better job of bringing the message to rural communities.
