Democratic Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin was asked if he would change his party's anti-Trump rhetoric following an apparent third assassination attempt against President Donald Trump. The top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee was present at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner when a man attempted to breach a security checkpoint and fired multiple shots. Raskins responded by questioning whether he has done any introspection about his use of politically charged rhetoric against Trump in light of the recent event. He defended his stance against the administration's authoritarianism and stated that he has never called the press the "enemy of the people" and has never used such a term.
