The Chama Canyon Fire, which is currently at 141 acres and 50 percent contained, has been active in grass, bush, and pinyon pine and juniper fuels. Firefighters used multiple suppression tactics, including a dozer line established around much of the perimeter. Mandatory evacuations are still in place for those living along County Road L.7 and County Road N.2. The area is a no-fly zone and unauthorized aircraft and drones can disrupt firefighting efforts.
