Despite ICE deployments to ease airport backups, Denver sees smooth, short security lines

Despite the partial government shutdown, Denver International Airport remained relatively calm as President Donald Trump deployed immigration agents to help U.S. airports manage long security lines during the crisis. Despite the deployment of ICE agents, security remained smooth at the airport, with minimal waits of about five minutes. The airport has not received any indication that ICE agents will be staffing its checkpoints. The shutdown has also led to a rise in agents quitting due to the lack of work due to exhaustion and calls for more than 400 officers to resign. The partial government government shutdown is ongoing and Congress remains deadlocked. Colorado Democratic Rep. Jason Crow accused Republicans of owning the shutdown, claiming they control every major government body and control the Senate.
