A suspect wanted for shooting and wounding a security guard for a Manhattan supportive housing nonprofit, Breaking Ground, was a frequent visitor to the facility for breaking rules. The suspect was barred from visiting the facility last June due to a violation of the rules. He would frequently ask tenants if he could stay in their apartments, despite facility rules preventing him from staying overnight. The victim, a 49-year-old security guard, is still recovering at Bellevue Hospital. Surveillance video provided by Breaking Ground helped identify the suspect. The suspected shooter was never a tenant at the facility.
