A YouTube creator, Justin Bradley, has shared a remarkable video of a reservoir in southern California that was completely restored after several atmospheric rivers hit California from late 2022 into early 2023. The low water level exposed a wide strip of nearly bare dirt around the edges of the basin, which normally would have been submerged, but this time, the reservoir was so dry that it left the ground exposed for several feet. The subsequent footage shows the reservoir in full health after the recent rainfall, which has seen significant rainfall and increased water levels. The full reservoirs are essential for public water supplies, local agriculture, and tourism and recreation, and support animal populations, boosting biodiversity that supports human food supply.
