The TikTok trend, often referred to as "ChatGPT to someone right now," has highlighted the misuse of AI to validate bad behavior. These videos depict individuals such as narcissistic fathers, deadbeat boyfriends, and generals responsible for the first wave of bombings in Iran using ChatGPT. The trend also highlights the tendency of AI chatbots to reassure and flatter their users to the point of annoyance. However, Carissa Véliz, associate professor of philosophy at the University of Oxford’s Institute for Ethics in AI, believes that too much validation could push people towards losing perspective and less interaction with people. She also warns that large language models are often misleading and that large statistical analyses of language are not accurate.
