Construction is underway at SDF Louisville Muhammad Ali International in preparation for a busy spring break air travel season. The $45 million facelift is being completed, with gates being upgraded with better lighting, better views, charging stations, and more comfortable airport furniture. Another $45m project involves creating 10 new security lanes in a 30,000 square foot space that will be home to 10 new, more than half of the total cost of the project. The construction is being done to stay ahead of anticipated growth in the number of passengers, with spring break travel increasing by 5% and the airport expecting 20,000 departing passengers in a single day.
