Liberal Democrats are aiming to extend their winning streak in Wisconsin Supreme Court elections to four. The April 7 election will see Democrat Chris Taylor and Republican Maria Lazar vying to fill a seat held by retiring conservative Justice Rebecca Bradley. A victory by Taylor would extend conservatives' control of the court for years. Last year's race was the most expensive state judicial race in history, with Elon Musk contributing millions of dollars. The Democratic Party of Wisconsin has a significant fundraising advantage, with Taylor's campaign spending $2.3 million on ads compared to Lazar's $157,000. Lazar has focused on her anti-abortion positions and contrast his opponent's past as a Democratic state legislator. Despite Wisconsin's swing state status, Janet Protasiewicz and Susan Crawford won the 2024 and 2025 Supreme Court races by around 10 percentage points.
