Man convicted of gruesome murder of his mother in their Sherburne County home

Eric Leif Jordahl, a 26-year-old man, has been convicted of murdering his mother, Rosalie "Rosalie" Johnson, in relation to the beating and stabbing death in 2020. The case will proceed to a second stage where the defense will argue that Jordahl should be ruled not guilty by reason of mental illness, a process known as a bifurcated trial. If successful, Jordahl will remain housed at the Forensic Mental Health Program, once known as Minnesota Security Hospital, where he was classified as mentally ill and dangerous.
