Steven Spielberg, the director of the first four "Indiana Jones" films, has rejected a planned horror movie adaptation of the character Indiana Jones. The films, which all feature gruesome deaths and a hero played by Harrison Ford, often kill more people than any other character. George Lucas, creator of the series, pitched an Indiana Jones horror movie set in a haunted castle in Scotland, but Spielberg turned down the idea, citing his previous work on "Poltergeist." Despite this, Spielberg has remained away from horror in recent years.
