Sloanian charter airline AlpAvia has lost its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) due to financial issues. This is a common reason for an existing airline to lose its AOC, granted once it has the necessary aircraft, staff, safety systems, and financial resources to operate long-term. Other airlines that have lost their AOC over the past six months include Estonia-based SmartLynx Airlines, Austria-based Mali Air, and Swedish charter carrier H-Night. Alpavia expanded to run routes between Vienna, Valencia and Lyon. As a result, any flights that the airline may have hoped to run in the future are now off.
