The National Month of the Military Child, April 1, is being celebrated by the U.S. Department of Education for ranking high on its military readiness tracker and student engagement. The state is also participating in a new data-sharing pilot program to identify graduates who choose military service. Schools with more than 20 children in military families can become Purple Star schools.
