Small plane crash temporarily closes Kona Airport runway

A small aircraft crash landed near the Kona International Airport, causing a 30-minute delay in 10 flights. The Hawaii Department of Transportation reported that the aircraft ended up off the south end of the runway. Crew members from the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting and state officials responded to the situation. The pilot reportedly refused to be transported to the hospital.
