Chicago police officer John Bartholomew was killed and another officer critically injured in a shooting at Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital. The shooting occurred around 11 a.m. Saturday at 5140 North California Avenue in the city's Ravenswood neighborhood. The suspect, identified as a robbery suspect, was taken into custody and remains in critical condition. The hospital issued a statement saying that the man was escorted by law enforcement at all times during hospital safety protocols but managed to escape the building.
