He emphasized that while Charboneaus was considered legitimate as a hitter when he first appeared with the Indians in 1980, he was a legitimate player. Pluto also addressed the myth of Super Joe's exploits, stating that he did not party himself out of Major League Baseball and that his career ended due to back injuries.
