Tommy Lloyd, Mark Few and Dan Monson have been intertwined since 1999, when Monson left his position as head coach at Gonzaga for Minnesota, but made Few promise to hire Lloyd as a graduate assistant. Over the years, these friendships have grown, with Lloyd hosting the Arizona team's Final Four game. This is part of a remarkable rise in college basketball history for Gonzaga, where the team has made its first NCAA tournament in school history. Since then, the basketball program has grown from a flailing handcar to a freight train. Few, Gonzaga’s current head coach, will be announced as part of the next class of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
