The German parliament has passed a bill allowing for more kidney transplants for seriously ill patients. The bill, proposed by Health Minister Nina Warken, removes restrictions on organ removal from living donors and allows for the creation of a wider pool of potential donors and recipients. Additionally, this will allow for an incompatible kidney to be donated to another recipient in exchange for a compatible one. Additional regulations will be introduced to ensure comprehensive information and counselling.
