Far-right media figure Laura Loomer has taken credit for the arrest of the niece and grand-niece of former Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in a U.S. strike on Iraq during President Trump's first term in 2020. Loomher revealed that she reported Hamideh Soleimadi Afshar, who had been living in Los Angeles, California, where she posts pro-Iranian regime content on her social media. She shared her findings with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which houses ICE, and the State Department. The State Department did not comment on Loomers' claims that her reporting led to the arrests. The arrests come amid a broader war with Iran, with President Donald Trump giving Tehran an 8pm.
