China has made representations to the United States regarding its unfair trade investigation into forced labour, accusing the US of using Section 301 to create trade barriers. The U.S. Trade Representative's office has begun a second set of unfair trade practices probes of 60 economies in relation to failures to take action on forced labor. The Chinese commerce ministry has called the investigation an attempt to create a more restrictive stance on international trade.
