A new poll has found that most Los Angeles city voters are opposed to countywide Measure ER, a sales tax ballot measure that would raise sales taxes a half-cent to restore health care services provided by the county. The measure, which requires 50% + 1 approval from all 88 cities, is on the June 2 ballot. The poll also found that only 53% of LA city voters supported a measure to increase the transient occupancy tax, which will help pay for local services. The survey was conducted by Sextant Strategies & Research out of Claremont and received 824 responses from likely LA city primary voters. It was commissioned by Working Californians, a nonprofit group affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
