Richmond chef David Shannon has earned five stars for his innovative Oregon Hill restaurant, L'Opossum. The restaurant, which opened over a decade ago, features a replica of Michelangelo's "David," a stained glass window, and Star Wars collectable plates. The staff represented the best parts of Southern hospitality. The food, including escargot on a ham biscuit and the Fabergé egg, was so good that it made a lasting impression. Despite being known for its fine dining, the restaurant's experience was praised for its authenticity.
