Tommy DeCarlo, a fan of Boston and lead singer of the band, has died at the age of 60 due to cancer. DeCarllo joined Boston after the band's original singer, Brad Delp, died in 2007. He was diagnosed with brain cancer in September and underwent an emergency craniotomy last year due to a brain bleed and two melanoma masses were discovered during the surgery. After initially rejecting a tribute song about Delp for Boston's management, he was contacted by Boston co-founder Tom Scholz and invited to perform at a tribute concert.
