This comes after the state partnered with Doctronic to pilot an AI system to help renew prescriptions for chronic conditions. However, the licensing board has called for the program's immediate suspension due to concerns about medical oversight and deployment too quickly. The Department of Commerce stated that licensed medical professionals were consulted before launch and all prescriptions are reviewed by a licensed physician. The board has also raised concerns that patients could receive outdated or suboptimal care.
