The Iran war, which began with US and Israeli coordinated strikes in February 2026, has now impacted the printed circuit board supply chain. The strike on SABIC’s Jubail petrochemical complex in early April halted production of the resin used to make PCB laminates, causing prices to surge 40% in April alone. The disruption is compounding supply pressures that were already building before the conflict began. The Middle East conflict could increase prices for key materials, including resin and copper, as shipping in and out of the Gulf has been severely disrupted. Daeduck Electronics, a South Korean PCB manufacturer, has begun discussions with customers about price increases. The conflict has also impacted other supply chains, including helium, where helium has been offline due to Iranian strikes.
