As airport delays persist, travelers and TSA workers call for end to shutdown

Travelers and TSA officers are calling for an end to the partial government shutdown, which began on Feb. 14 and continues to affect major U.S. airports across the country. TSA officers continue to work without pay and call-outs have increased. The staffing shortages have led to long wait times for flyers and increased call-out rates. Last week, TSA employees missed their first full paycheck and over 300 employees have left the agency since the start of the shutdown. Republicans and Democrats are divided over immigration reform, which led to the funding lapse for DHS.
