Miles McBride, a professional basketball player, underwent a core-muscle surgical procedure after sustaining a sports hernia in late January, which required him to be sidelined for two months. McBride returned to the court for a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on March 29, but quickly aggravated his wound on his first day back on the job. He credits the discomfort to being part of a process he hopes will help put the surgical procedure in the past. Despite the physical toll the surgery took on his body, McBride expects a slow ramp back into playing form. He was in the middle of a breakout season with averages of 12.9 points on 42.2 percent shooting from deep prior to the surgery and has only totaled 15 points in four games since returning.
