Joseph DeVito, a member of the Union County Sheriff's Office, died following a motorcycle accident that shut down I-78 for several hours. The accident occurred when the front of the motorcycle collided with a semi-vehicle driven by a 32-year-old Ohio man. DeVito was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene. The sheriff's office has called for the public to remain silent as it navigates the difficult times.
