The closure of Caputo's bakery in Brooklyn has left restaurants across the borough searching for new suppliers. Court Street Grocers, which ordered about 6,000 loaves a week from Caputo’s across its three locations, experienced a significant increase in deliveries following Hurricane Sandy. The fifth-generation owner, James Caputo, said the decision was made after years of continuous operation. The bakery was founded in 1904 and operated with family living quarters above the shop.
