The escalating war in West Asia following the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has sent shockwaves through the markets, with oil prices rising significantly due to the Strait of Hormuz reportedly closing. The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) rose over 8% to trade at $72.80 at the time of writing, while Brent Crude surged more than 9% to $79.45. Gold's price rose more than 2% and silver's price increased by nearly 1.5%.
