Researchers have found that formulas based on prime numbers can describe features of black holes. These discoveries suggest that the mathematical truths that govern prime numbers may also govern fundamental laws of the universe. The Riemann hypothesis, a key theory of number theory, suggests that the zeta function, whose zeros always improve the original estimate, can enhance the original value. Anyone who proves this will receive a $1-million Clay Mathematics Institute prize. Researchers from the University of Cambridge and the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Saclay, have also found that a "conformal" symmetry emerges inside the chaos close to a singularity, leading them to a "complex" prime number. The researchers are yet to confirm this claim.
