LI hospital accepting patients for clinical trial testing vaccine against breast cancer

A Long Island hospital is accepting patients for a worldwide phase 3 clinical trial for a new breast cancer vaccine, FLAMINGO-01. The vaccine is from Greenwich LifeSciences and aims to harness the patient's immune response to fight cancer. If successful, it could become the standard of care for breast cancer patients. The company has shown an 80 percent or greater reduction in metastatic breast cancer recurrence over five years of follow-up, compared to a 50 percent rate from other approved products.
