A poll conducted by the Institute of Governmental Studies in California has found that about 68 percent of Californians believe democracy is under attack, while 21 percent believe it to be a test. The poll also revealed that about 33 percent of Democrats were extremely or very satisfied with the way democracy works, while only 4 percent of Republicans said the same. The results are nearly the same as in 2024, despite several upcoming elections. The survey also revealed surprising results, with 48 percent of respondents expressing extremely or highly confident in the state’s integrity.
