Future Hall of Fame pitcher on his decision to retire: ‘My arm told me it was time’

Clayton Kershaw, a future Hall of Fame pitcher, has announced his retirement from baseball after 18 seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He attributed his decision to a physical deterioration in his arm that began six or seven years ago. Kershaw also noted that his velocity had decreased due to surgeries and a lack of motivation. He retired during the summer and decided to retire during the winter. The Dodgers' rotation will still be deep this season, as long as the pitchers remain healthy.
