The incident occurred during a live broadcast from the Texas Capitol when a crew member handed him a phone with a message from an unnamed boss. The footage was quickly shared by conservative social media accounts and seen as evidence that the media was attempting to downstage the pro-Palestinian rally. The station is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, which runs dozens of local affiliates around the country.
