The closure comes amid scrutiny of Omar's financial reporting by Congressmen James Comer (R-KY), chair of the House Oversight Committee, and concerns that the companies associated with the winery may have been influenced by individuals attempting to gain influence with Congresswoman Omar. The Department of Justice is also investigating Omar for potential involvement in the Feeding Our Future scandal, a $250 million fraud scheme that exploited a federally-funded child nutrition program.
