Lionsgate Exec On Hollywood M&A: “We’ve Got a Scarce Asset”

Lionsgate Studios COO, Jimmy Barge, has stated that his company has become an attractive pure-play studio asset after its breakup with Starz. The announcement came after Paramount Skydance defeated Netflix in a bid to take over Warner Bros. Discovery. Barge also highlighted the success of the John Wick studio, which had separated from the Outlander premium network to create two standalone companies. The separation was completed a year ago to allow investors to evaluate each business separately.
