Federal immigration agents were seen at Newark Airport around 6 a.m. on Monday, two days after President Donald Trump announced he would deploy ICE officers into airports across the country. The agents were unmasked and wore vests marked "Police,” “ERO” and “Police ICE”. Thousands of TSA agents have been working without pay due to the partial government shutdown, resulting in increased security wait times at security gates. Democrats have been opposing funding for the Department of Homeland Security unless conditions are met, such as a ban on face masks and warrants for federal officers entering homes.
