Oxfordshire County Council has issued a legal notice to the Raise The Colours group, which has been placing Union and St George's flags on lampposts across the county. The council leader, Liz Leffman, described the installation as an act of intimidation and division that left residents feeling distressed, unwelcome and unsafe in their neighbourhoods. The group has previously claimed that the flags were motivated by patriotism. The local authority has also reported over 200 complaints regarding the flags' placement.
