New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) has stated he would ask King Charles III to return the Koh-i-noor diamond, which has been in the possession of the British government since the mid-1800s. The diamond originally came from the alluvial mines in India, a former British colony, with India, Pakistan, and the Taliban in Afghanistan claiming ownership. The British monarch and his wife, Queen Camilla, are visiting the One World Trade Center in New York City to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
