Ohioans are set to settle contested primaries for nearly every statewide executive office, including those for governor, secretary of state, attorney general, auditor and treasurer. The primary will set the stage for November's election, which will decide if Republican incumbent Jon Husted will stay in Washington for two years or if Democrat Sherrod Brown will return to Capitol Hill. All 15 U.S. House seats and 99 Ohio House seats will be on the ballot, as will 17 of 33 Ohio Senate seats. This year marks the first time in years that the Ohio governor’s race will feature no incumbent, as Gov. Mike DeWine is prohibited by state term limits from seeking a third four-year term. The winner of the Republican gubernatorial primary will face presumptive Democratic nominee Amy Acton and presumptive Libertarian nominee Don Kissick in November.
