Police are investigating a deadly shooting at the Elko Regional Airport that left two people dead. The Elko Police Department responded to an active shooter at the airport around 12:38 p.m. on April 13. The victims were identified as Giovanni Perez and Callan Perez, who were traveling together when their rental vehicle became disabled. They entered the airport restroom twice, one of which was shot multiple times. Callan died of multiple gunshot wounds. The motive for the shooting is unknown. The incident affected both inbound and outbound flights and prompted the closure of the airport on April 14.
