The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued a clarification that most cryptocurrency assets are not securities. This decision has been welcomed by the Solana ecosystem, which argues that some of the value of these assets outweigh the value they provide. The SEC stated that assets derived from the programmatic operation of a cryptocurrency system, as well as supply and demand dynamics, are to be classified as commodities. Non-fungible tokens and dollar-backed stablecoins were also declared commodities. However, Litecoin's official X account stated that some pay to be there.
