Dow names insider as CEO as Fitterling moves to executive chair role

Dow Inc. has named operations chief Karen Carter as its CEO, replacing Jim Fitterling who will now hold the position. This comes amidst a challenging period for the company, which has seen low demand, restructuring and a significant overhaul of its global footprint. The company plans to cut about 4,500 jobs, or 13% of its workforce, in an effort to boost profitability by at least $2 billion.
