Republican Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has initiated a civil investigation and a subpoena against popular gaming site Discord, which is known for its pedophilia use. The site, which has over 200 million active registered users and is considered the most popular online gaming site for gamers, has been implicated in nearly half of all federal court cases mentioning the site or its users since 2017 involving "child exploitation". Uthmegan demands an explanation for the platform's "overwhelming use" by predators. The attorney general’s office has also requested records of criminal cases involving children, data on how many children are using the platform, and marketing documents related to the marketing of the site directly to children.
