11 college football teams facing big post-spring questions

The spring football season has concluded, with the Way Too Early Top 25 updated and SP+ projections up. This marks the beginning of my annual preview series for college football. These questions include whether Alabama's Keelon Russell will be the most important player of 2026, particularly for the quarterback position. The Crimson Tide's Ty Simpson and nearly the entire starting offensive line are gone, and the defense should be strong again, but the offensive line could be short on starting between five and seven freshman or sophomores this season. Meanwhile, Oregon is facing questions about its ability to maintain its 26-3 record two seasons and potentially win four consecutive national titles from four different teams.
